Using KeepMyMail Inside Gmail (Beta)

Last updated: 2026-04-07

Beta feature: The Gmail Add-on is currently in beta. To get access, please contact us at support@keepmymail.net and we’ll enable it for your account.

The KeepMyMail Gmail Add-on lets you check your sync status and trigger email checks without leaving Gmail. It appears as a sidebar panel inside Gmail.

What the add-on does

The KeepMyMail Gmail Add-on gives you quick access to:

  • See all your connected mailboxes — view each mailbox with its current status
  • Check when email was last fetched — see how recently each mailbox was checked
  • Trigger a manual sync — click “Sync Now” to immediately check for new email, right from Gmail
  • See errors at a glance — if a mailbox has an issue, you’ll see it immediately with a quick way to retry

How to install

  1. Open Gmail on your computer (the add-on works in Gmail’s web interface)
  2. Look for KeepMyMail in the Google Workspace Marketplace, or click the install link from your KeepMyMail dashboard
  3. Click Install and follow Google’s prompts to allow the add-on
  4. Once installed, you’ll see the KeepMyMail icon in Gmail’s right sidebar

Using the add-on

Click the KeepMyMail icon in Gmail’s sidebar to open the panel. You’ll see a card for each of your connected email accounts showing:

  • The mailbox name and email address
  • When it was last checked (for example, “Synced 15 minutes ago”)
  • A Sync Now button to trigger an immediate check

Status indicators

  • Green / synced recently — everything is working normally
  • Yellow / waiting — the mailbox is waiting for its next scheduled check
  • Red / error — there was a problem with the last check. Click Retry to try again, or visit the web dashboard for more details.

For full management, use the web dashboard

The Gmail Add-on is designed for quick status checks and manual syncs. For full management — adding new mailboxes, changing settings, viewing detailed sync history — use the KeepMyMail web dashboard. You can click Open Dashboard in the add-on to go there directly.

Uninstalling the add-on

If you want to remove the add-on from Gmail:

  1. Click the KeepMyMail icon in Gmail’s sidebar
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the add-on panel
  3. Select “Manage add-on” or go to Google Workspace Marketplace
  4. Click “Uninstall”

Uninstalling the add-on does not affect your KeepMyMail account or mailboxes. KeepMyMail will continue checking your email as normal — you just won’t see the sidebar in Gmail.
